a la carte icons
I caved and bought more icons. Anyone that's being crazy like me, it helps to actually read through some of the news post's comments to make sense of how it works. If you have a paid account and had the userpic add-on before a la carte icons, you have 1 package. Therefore, you cannot buy the 1st package listed (listed as 1 package - 70 userpics). Well. You can, but you won't get the icons, you'll just get additional time for the package.
Formerly package 1 was called something like... oooh... 100 extra userpics or something. They renamed that, which is good, because it was a little deceiving. You didn't get 100 more userpics, your total was brought up to 100 (not counting loyalty pics).
Get it? Probably not. It's pretty confusing. But, so, if you have a paid account and the 1st package and you want more icons, you have to buy 2 packages, which will add another 70 icons to your total.
So, I had 105 icons (1 package + loyalty userpics) before I gave LJ another $20 (sigh I hate being an icon whore ;;), and now have a total of 175.
All icon add-ons are built to expire on the same date. Something about distribution time amongst the packages. The staff have some pretty decent explanations in the comments.
-I believe plus/basic accounts can get a total of 15 more icons for $6 ($2 for 5 icons each package).
-I do not know how these add-ons effect permanent accounts.
I need to really write fic. I haven't done much at all...
